do you put the bleach / detergent in when the washing machine is filled with water? how do you know that though?

how do i wash my blanket? there is cotton coming out of it so im assuming its cotton. it is a westpoint stevens blanket. it has flowers on it. it is a light color, like white, light blue, and peachy i guess. is timed high dry good?

also do i wash my pillow? i has cottonin it and is black and white.

well i know to seperate light from dark clothing, and i have simple washing machine and dryer. i have some all detergent and clorox fresh meadow bleach. do i put lights in one load and then wait untils its done and then put dark load? when you use lights does that mean everything light, like socks, and white shoes? and dark means like green and black? also is drying on timed dry high heat good? i know to use permanent press, but should i do it on short, regular, or super?
