what is the curse of the twins? what's the history, lore and legends behind it?

hey guys i'm doing a little research here and I REALLY need your help! ya see i'm writing a novel and there are twins in it. i heard about this "Curse of the Twins" while net-surfing and now i can't find any info on it!
so as the question states, what the heck is it?!?

Well, from a history stand point. In certain cultures, it is believed that having twins is a curse from the Gods. This is because, in primitive societies you may not be able to support two or more children. Hope that helps. I want to say that the novel "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe has some reference, but i am not sure.
