In KOF a new fighter comes in when you have been defeated, where as in the Capcom game you can mark a new boxer at any time.

Vsually have the games gone untouched, which can phase those of you playing on your big screen HDTV. Unless the old-school graphics does not bother you so much, you will find a lot to like about the visual KOF. The series has always been known to have better pictures for the Street Fighter games, because most of SNK's titles ran on more advanced arcade hardware that of Capcom's, which made porting SNK games for consoles than Neo-Geo very difficult. The background in all King of Fighters game is filled with multiple levels of detail and animation of the soldiers are still nice even today. Although detail of the soldiers is still nice to appreciate because their designs are not as monotonous and simplistic as the other fighters from that era.

The sound remains untouched and preserved. I personally still love old-school game sound and so I love listening to KOF's soundtrack. There is something about the simplicity of the sound of older games that make them more memorable than today's modern stuff. Anyhow, purists will be happy to know has been touched, and there is also a jukebox that allows you to listen to each of the tracks individually.
