OTTAWA - The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are set to visit Canada next summer.

Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean confirmed the mid-2010 visit in a statement Sunday.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper had invited the Queen during a visit to Buckingham Palace last April.

"It is always a high honour to host a royal visit," Harper said in a statement.
