There are many uses for silk flowers, many just don't know about them. With so many different types of fake silk flowers, you might collect them as they are pretty to look at but then you might wonder what to do with them later. Well, we have just the thing for you. Here are some of the newer uses that people have come up with to use silk flowers.

There have been many women who have made their own hair pieces which they used silk flowers for. It saves you a bundle when you make your own hair accessories. That's for sure. There have been some that use just a single silk flower while others use a few. The choice is yours.

There have been others that have used them for decorating ideas. For some, they have used them to add onto the handles of drawers that look rather plain. We have seen others who have made centerpieces out of them. Others have made bouquets to put into vases.

If you are the baking sort of person, silk flowers are a wonderful add to those cakes that you make. While some baking addicts are making their own out of sugar, if you find that you don't have that sort of time, then you can use silk flowers to help you with the rest. It's just in a matter of time and viola you have it made. Just make sure to tell those eating the cake that the flowers aren't edible!

For those of you animal lovers, we have an idea for you too. There are some who actually make things for their animals. You might be the animal lover that wants your dog to look their best so this might be just the thing that you do!

For those women you are going to semi formal or even those who are going to prom, fresh flowers have to be refrigerated beforehand. They also don't last as long. There are many of us ladies out there who like to remember that special day. Therefore, if you want to be able to remember that day for a long while, then you might want to make your own corsage. You can save him some money and it will be something you can remember when you tell your children about when you went to prom.

These are just a few of the uses that we have found people using fake flowers for. We are sure that there are plenty more where that came from. You might find some reasons we didn't list. Due to how cheap they are and how real the silk flowers look at times, it's no wonder that many are working to create crafty things with these. For those who suffer from allergies, these are the best thing. Now they can have their floral things without the pollen kicking their bottoms. So, find what you can do with silk flowers. How can i make a difference?

I want to spread the word about vegetarianism and veganism and animal abuse but how?
I am 14, and a vegan so i don't eat meat or dairy and i do not get anything from animals including honey and silk.

The first rule is: Show people by example.

Don't evangelise. People don't like confrontation. Talking about animal abuse/cruelty, especially when it directly affects their longstanding eating habits, is a sure-fire way to get people to put up their shutters and not listen to you. I know this goes against what you, as a new veg*n convert, are probably feeling right now, but believe me, it would be highly counterproductive to go preaching at people.

The second rule is: Become a good example.

Make sure that you know everything there is to know about nutrition, especially when it comes to a vegan/vegetarian diet, and even more especially when it comes down to the nutritional requirements of a teenager. Find out which foods are particularly good sources of various nutrients, and make sure you eat those foods regularly. Stay as healthy as you can without taking supplements. Being an unhealthy veg*n is not going to win you any converts. Living on tablets is not going to win you any either. Keep as natural a diet as you can.

The third rule is: Research.

Learn as many facts as you can, so that when someone challenges your dietary/lifestyle choice with a question/statement intended to ridicule you and all other veg*ns, you have an answer that will shut them up and maybe make them think. There are several books aimed at teenaged veg*ns and if Kim N reads your question, she may well repost the list. If not, find her profile and read back through her answers and you're sure to find it.

The fourth rule is: Try to keep your veganism low-key.

Don't openly flaunt your lifestyle choice. It's a certain way to invite attacks from the anti-veg*n brigade. Only tell people if they ask, or if it comes up in conversation. Then, be prepared and be happy to answer any questions which may arise.

The fifth rule is: Stick with it.

You'll probably have minor setbacks along the way, but don't get discouraged. You've made this choice and it's one of the greatest choices of your life. Make sure it's still going to be a great choice, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50+ years from now.

The sixth rule is: Learn to cook.

This goes for everyone, not just veg*ns. You have to be able to look after yourself. Don't rely on your parents, partner, room-mates, etc. as they won't always be there to cook for you. Expand your repertoire to include as many different dishes as you can find, so that you can never get bored with your diet, and you can whip up a delicious, nutritious meal at the drop of a hat. Investing in a few good cookbooks will pay off in the long run.

(There are probably a few other rules, but I can't think of them right now.)
