In spite of what some may believe, buying cheap flat bed sheets does not automatically mean you are settling for a low quality product. If you shop wisely, you can get good sheets without busting the budget.
Shop in Online Auction Sites
Online auction sites allow you to buy / bid for the items you see. You won't just find affordable flat sheets, here, but also low cost fitted sheets, pillowcases, comforters and other bed accessories. These sites are known for selling secondhand items. However, many of the sheets sold here are still of good quality.
Here are some basic reminders for first time auction site buyers. Check how much the item costs compared with those being sold in other online and retail stores.
Examine the pictures and the product description. Usually there are multiple payment options; sometimes though, only one payment method is offered. Check the options. Don't forget to check the offers being made by the other sellers.
Retail Stores
Many people still prefer to look for cheap flat bed sheets in retail or brick and mortar stores. Buying in these places have their own advantages. You can see the sheets up close. You can determine the colors and how the fabric feels. The salesperson can also answer your inquiries. There are drawbacks of course; these places can be crowded, especially during clearance sales.
If the store is far, you'll have to pay for parking and gas. You also have to stand in line to pay. If you want to buy here, do it when they offer discounts. You'll know because these are usually stated in newspapers.

If the 400 thread count sheets are too expensive, try the 280 to 300 types. They won't be as soft, but the quality is still high. Read some reviews of these sheets so you'll know which ones are good.
If you are looking for cheap flat bed sheets, don't forget to assess
the prices in competing stores. It isn't unusual for the same sheet type to be sold at different prices. The effort you put in here will save you dollars.

is it ok to get new sheets and pillow cases but not a new bedspread?
i bought new sheets pillowcases and pillows but not new bedspread. will this make any differences? it seems to have those brown stains on it. is that just from not washing it enough and accumlation of dirt and sweat and what not. like my pillows had the same thing where they had just turned brown. what is that stuff. and will not getting a new bed spread ruin my new sheets?
If your bedspread is too large to fit in your washing machine you need to take it to the laundrymat and wash it there. If the stains do not come out after washing them, I would recommend replacing it too. Do you shower before getting into bed? You might try that, and wash your sheets and bedspread before they get so dirty. You should wash your sheets every week, two weeks at the most. Could even try running a fan while you sleep, might help you not sweat so much while you are sleeping.
