What adhesive works best on polar fleece?

I'm sewing a piece of polar fleece onto a blanket of the same material, but if I don't use some sort of adhesive on the fleece that I want to sew on, I'm worried that the piece will pull away from the blanket and that the stitching will come undone more easily. Any help is very much appreciated!

Are you saying you will sew around the edges of the fleece, but are concerned about the center of the fleece, sort of puffing away from the blanket?

You can use Steam a Seam iron-on adhesive. It is self sticking so you can reposition if necessary. Then steam press from the inside of the blanket where the fleece will be located on the outside.

A press cloth on top of the fleece would also protect the fleece. Use an old pillowcase or tea towel as the press cloth, then steam.

Ironing directly on the fleece could cause some smoothing/melting of the surface.

Back-stitch at the beginning and ending of each seam and they will not come loose.
