Revisit the History at the Sule Pagoda
Find the Sule Pagoda in the heart of Yangon, standing tall amidst a hoard of tiny shops such as astrologists, palmist and more. This golden monument to Buddhism is true marvel to behold. Reaching a height of 152 feet, the pagoda as its name denotes, enshrines a hair of a Buddha. The direct translation of Sule Pagoda’s Mon name that is Kyaik Athok is “The Pagoda Where A Sacred Hair Relic Is Enshrined"
Sule Pagoda is said to be over two millennium in age, and it is also mentioned that it was the location whereby King Ukkalapa held meeting to build the neighbouring Shwedagon Pagoda. Another fact surrounding the pagoda is the fact that it is located in the approximate centre of the Yangon making it not just a monument of religious and artistic connotation but also a strategic location for the infrastructure of the city. The golden pagoda is designed in a manner whereby the octagonal base forms up as an inverted bell making it unique in architectural style.
Visitors may gain access to this Buddhist monument through the four stairways or by way of the two overhead bridges by paying the fee of $5 per admission. Sule Pagoda is open to the public from 4AM to 10PM daily, and is located on the junction of Sule Pagoda Road Mahabandoola Road, Kyauktada Township.

hi, i need to revisit a temple in BANGKOK?
hi, one of my friends visited BANGKOK in JAN 2002, he visited one temple, it was in repair then, The pagoda was popular, it was said to be worshipped by the king. The temple itself was pretty big, but it was covered in scaffold at that time. The BUDDA statue itself was around 6 ft - high,Sitting position, at that time, was being put aside for worshippers.
The temple is beside a road. Across the road was many vendors selling souvenirs and meals.
It was a big place and the place seems popular.
Can anyone can tell me the name and location of that temple.
