I will be in the Philippine June - July. My husband and I are planning some island hopping in W. Visayas. Likely, we will spend more time on Cebu and Bohol. My question is about places to stay.

We may be at each place for several days. We're not looking for luxury... a bamboo cabin will do. We would like a very laid back environment where we can wear our bikini beach wear, enjoy the sun, enjoy local food, ride jeepneys and tricycles.

Any suggestions?

I suggest that you try to visit Bantayan Island. It's an island at the northern part of Cebu. Just like Boracay (famous for its white sands), the island also boasts of its white beaches---at a cheaper price. It's a great place to enjoy riding tricycles and trisikads (you'll know what it is when you get there ). The island is also famous for its fresh seafoods, literally fresh from the sea! Yum!
You can enjoy the sun without much distractions from other tourists since the month of June or July is non-peak season. It's a great place to unwind.
You can also go island hopping since Bantayan Island is also surrounded by islets.
