Intex Metal Frame Pool - 15'x48". Anyone have one?

I am thinking of buying an Intex Metal Frame pool, 15' x 48". I am finding mixed reviews on this. It is either love it or hate it. Anyone have any experience with that size or similar? I have used the ring self-rise ones for the past 4 years. But my kids are growing and need a bit deeper pool. I have had one self-rise pool burst. I now read that the metal frame ones can burst or leak too. My yard is fairly level cuz of four years of leveling it out for the self-rise ones! But is it totally? Probably not totaly.

Giving a metal frame pool a level substrate is essential. They are designed to support the water by direct downward pressure on the liner, so any gradient change can put too much pressure on one side or another causing problems.

If you have a level surface then they are really good pools. Many people have problems with the pools leaking because they aren't completely level or were installed improperly. Getting a new pool is an exciting thing and patience is not always used when setting them up. This creates problems later on.

If you have the budget for it get a larger pool. Even a 20' is easier to maintain than a 15'. Though you will want to double check with your local safety code and home owners insurance to make sure you conform with fencing regulations, etc. Also your home owners insurance will have a considerable jump in premiums when you pass a certain size of pool. This can be offset by having safety features such as proper fencing, locked ladders, proper self closing/self latching gates, lighting, and even pool alarms.
