Administrative Professional's Week Flowers To Say A Special Thank You
From my personal experience, I can very well say that floral arrangements can be given to relate to any occasion and fill the air with joy and brightness. I have been happy working as an administrative assistant in a reputed college. Every semester my happiest moment was to order floral arrangements from OnlineFlowers and decorate the conference room to welcome our new students.
Once during the mid-semester, we had a seminar for which I slogged to get the arrangements done. On the day of the seminar, I got back home in the evening and burst into as I felt that I was not recognized for the work I had done. Though I was upset, I had to get back on my toes as always.
April was arriving and all our administrative professionals were chit-chatting about our special dinner and perks arranged for the secretary/administrative professional's day. On behalf of the department, I placed the order for vivid administrative professional's week flowers for each person's work desk.
At party time, I was happy to see the large conference room in our department arranged with awesome secretary day flowers. From deep inside my heart I felt good to be amongst those lovely secretary day flowers.
Suddenly my Dean came to me and asked me to get to her room after lunch. Expecting work, I went to her room and knocked at the door. When I got inside the Dean's office, I was dumb-founded; I could not believe my eyes! A whole bunch of students and my Dean greeted me with awesome administrative professional's week flowers. The administrative professional's week flowers were an excellent arrangement of gerbera daisies flowers in a clear glass vase. I was so moved as the administrative professionals week flowers had a small card in it saying "Thank You for being who you are".
Curious to know where they found such beautiful flowers I asked a student at the party and she told me it was from OnlineFlowers.

Am I underpaid as a floral delivery driver?
I deliver flowers for a floral shop and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being paid justly. I get paid 6 dollars per delivery, although he requires me to be at work at a certain hour and remain until a certain hour. It seems to me I should be paid hourly + delivery. His reasoning that I'm not paid this way is that I'm hired as an independent contractor, and my pay isn't based on hourly wages.
Is this a legal paying rate, or am I getting screwed here?
It seems legal because you're a subcontractor... are you using your own van? Are you paying for your own gas? Also, the region you're in plays a big part in things. These are important factors.
We are a rather large shop in Sarasota, FL (the largest in our area by far) and we pay our regular drivers $8 - $10 per hour. We supply the vans & gas. Our holiday temp drivers are paid differently, though... They are paid between $2.50 & $4.50 per delivery depending upon whether deliveries are brought back or not. We incentiveise getting every piece delivered within a reasonable amount of time. Our basic structure is this: We pay $2.50 per delivery. If they bring nothing back and have signatures on every delivery, they get a $1 bonus. If they stay until the end of their shift (basically until we're done, or have them scheduled until), they will receive another $1 bonus for each delivery, making it possible to make up to $4.50 per delivery.
During non-holidays, we average about 100 deliveries per day. During holidays, we average probably around 1,000 deliveries per day. Our regular drivers have a 30 - 40 hour work week, but they also don't exclusively run deliveries, either... sometimes they break down boxes, sweep, clean up around the shop, arrange the cooler, etc. Some of our drivers set up weddings, perform minimal upkeep of our hotel/resort clients (like watering flowers, etc.).
So, basically, if you're in NYC making $6 per delivery, no, I wouldn't say that's fair. If you're in an average sized city in a decent-sized shop, perhaps it is fair. One good way to check is to find out what other local delivery drivers make (for florists... not any other industry).
