Finding Out About Deep Fitted Sheets
I want to tell you a story about when I had to buy some new sheets for my bed. What started out as a simple task led to a bit of a nightmare. I don't want you to have to go through the same thing as me and that is why I want to tell my deep fitted sheets story.
Before I re-live my nightmare, I want to let you know why I got involved with buying bed sheets and why I wouldn't know anything about deep fitted sheets. I live with my girlfriend who I would describe as a 'shopaholic'. She does all the shopping and my only involvement is usually to try and stop her spending money. However, now she is pregnant and it means that I have to help out more and this is how I got involved.
OK, so simple enough task I think you will agree. So down to the shops I went. I bought some sheets thinking I was doing everything right. I picked a colour that was similar to what we had but a slight change for variety. Also made sure I had the size for a double bed.
When I am back home I decide to do something nice. I decide to put the sheets on the bed so that when my girlfriend came back home she would have a nice surprise. Try as I could I just couldn't get the sheets on. No matter what angle I choose they just wouldn't fit because the mattress was too big.
My girlfriend came back when the bed was in a state. After she stopped laughing at me she called me an idiot. She told me that I should've bought deep fitted sheets like she said. I am sure that she didn't but she insists she did.
Now if you don't want to return the sheets back to the shop in exchange for some deep fitted sheets (like me!), I would advise that you check the depth of your mattress before you go shopping.

will a full size fitted sheet fit on a regular queen mattress?
i can only find this size on a fabulous sale!
Sorry, no. The queen mattress is bigger than the full size mattress, so the fitted corners will not reach to tuck in. A full size flat sheet could work as a bottom sheet on a queen mattress, if you can find the flat sheet in that sale.
