best military helicopter pilots would have to be the US Coast Guard SAR choppers. They have to hover for up to 20 minutes very close to the water in gusts of up to 60 mph usually during heavy rain or snow plus 50 feet waves.

PS: Coast Guard SAR choppers do it more often the Combat Search and Rescue outfits. They get called a few times a day compared to CSAR people who may get lucky during a humanitarian mission or specops.
