Classic Action Films

Knowing what really makes the grade can be tricky, so here are some all time favourite action features that won't disappoint.

  1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day – Arnold Schwarzenegger in his entire gun-blazing glory

If you're a fan of Arnie and the first ‘Terminator' movie, the second time around will be sure to not disappoint. Ten years after the Terminator last failed to destroy Sarah Connor and her son, John, a new Terminator is back under instruction from Skynet, with more guns, action, determination and science fiction than ever before.

  1. Speed – Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in high-adrenaline, edge-of-your-seat action

With a ticking time bomb set to blow on a bus full of people that can't drop below a certain speed (ha...there it is...the movie title!), who is going to save the day but our favourite action heroes Annie Porter (Sandra Bullock) and Officer Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves).

  1. Die Hard – Early Bruce Willis in "40 stories of sheer adventure"

Released in 1988, this epic tale of an NYC cop trying to stop terrorists killing his wife (and everyone else in the LA office high rise) makes this movie an action classic. With the calculating mind of John McClane (Bruce Willis) working overtime to try and save his wife and the police playing it by the book, this really gets the mind thinking, "what will happen next?"

  1. Commando – Of course Arnold Schwarzenegger made it to the list twice!

Ex-army Colonel John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has retired to live a life of simplicity in the Californian wilderness with daughter Jenny. When she is taken by an old army subordinate, a raft of dramatic events occur, all of which involves greed and a power struggle. Matrix takes back control, Commando style.

  1. First Blood – Rambo makes his first appearance

After stumbling into a less-than-welcoming town, former Green Beret John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is tortured within an inch of his life by Sherriff Will Teasle and ultimately loses his marbles in the process. Once Rambo has snapped and killed a second-in-command, he arms himself with enough ammunition for a small army and heads for the hills. Aside from the ‘Rocky' movies, this is one of the most popular action flicks that Stallone has starred in.

The tick's head is still in my skin?

Alright so usual story, a tick, and..
my mom is the one who had the tick on her, and she apparently freaked out and yanked it, which she said 'was really hard to pull out and at one point it just snapped like a rubber band'.

I checked the spot and yeah.. there was a tiny black thing in the middle. Not blood, but I am assuming it is the tick's head cause my mom said it wouldn't come out so she had to yank it multiple times...

Yep. Sounds like a classic 'tick still in my skin' story.

SO. I personally had lyme disease, and I f**king don't want my mom to get it cause lyme disease is painful.

My mom had the tick bite 8 hours ago.
Do we have to try to get the head out? Does leaving the head in influence the chance of getting lyme disease??

Because I know that it will eventually fall off. When I had my bite, the head was still in, but it dropped out after about a week, although it did hurt during those times. But, does it matter with lyme disease?

That the head will come out like a splinter. Its not the problem. If you squeeze the body while pulling it out the tick (basically throws up the blood it has sucked back into your skin) There would lie the problem of any possible lime disease or such. If you want to be sure it might be time to make a visit to the doctor or maybe just a nurse practitioner. Good Luck
